Designated Physician [Human Reliability Program] Law and Legal Definition
According to 10 CFR 712.3 [Title 10 Energy; Chapter III Department of Energy; Part 712 Human Reliability Program; Subpart A Establishment of and Procedures for the Human Reliability Program; General Provisions], Designated Physician means “a licensed doctor of medicine or osteopathy who has been nominated by the Site Occupational Medical Director (SOMD) and approved by the Manager or designee, with the concurrence of the Director, Office of Health and Safety, to provide professional expertise in occupational medicine for the HRP (Human Reliability Program).”
